In Their Name: The Call for a Wrongful Death Act in BC - January 2008
CANF, the Trial Lawyers Association of BC and BC Coalition of People with Disabilities (BCCPD) are seeking a new wrongful death act in British Columbia. In Their Name is a BCCPD report on this issue. A new act is needed to enable family members, who suffer the loss of a loved one due to the harmful actions of others, to obtain a full measure of justice. The first part of the report documents the stories of four families. The second looks at the Family Compensation Act from the community's perspective and offers a proposal for a new wrongful death act in British Columbia.
